About Kopavee
A grounded story of transition, ancestral connection, intuitive guidance, and the inner compass that led to Kopavee.
Opening Story
I’m washing my hands, and I catch my reflection in the mirror. For the first time in years, I recognize myself. I’m the woman who deeply loves her family, who loves life, nature, and adventure, and is grateful for all of it. I had been buried under years of grief that began when I became a war widow during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2005. I carried that grief while I continued to serve, with little space to process such a life-altering loss.
That moment was years in the making.
I spent 26 years in military healthcare, serving alongside some of the most dedicated people. I was one of them, pushing through grief, suppressing what my body was trying to tell me, adapting in a way that looked like resilience but was really disconnection. It took a toll on my health and my relationships while my career flourished. My inner compass had guided me through service and achievement, but I had lost touch with the part of me that longed to be fully present with my heart and my family.
Becoming Kua
Growing up, I watched my mother explore metaphysical healing arts like energy healing, rituals, plant medicines, and color light therapy. When my younger brother experienced a brain injury, she turned to alternative healing modalities rather than conventional medicine alone. These practices shaped how I understood healing from a very young age.
My family ancestry is connected to both the Indigenous peoples of the Southwest and the Iberian Peninsula. Throughout my life, I felt a deep energetic connection to Northern New Mexico. Only recently did I learn that my ancestors may have once walked the land of Kuaua, a Tiwa pueblo village that existed long before Spanish arrival in the region.
When I chose the spiritual name Kua, inspired by Kuaua, it was my way of honoring lineage, memory, and identity that so many people, including my own family, lost through generations of displacement, assimilation, and loss.
What I did not realize at the time was that “Kua” also exists within Chinese metaphysical systems as a personal energy number derived from one’s date of birth. The Kua number reflects energetic tendencies, directional alignment, and aspects of how a person moves through life and experiences the world.
The moment I saw Kua inside Kuaua, my heart recognized what my mind had not yet caught. My ancestral connection, my intuitive path, and the work I was being called toward no longer felt separate. They revealed themselves as threads of the same story, woven together across time in a search for harmony between the past, present and future life paths.
What Kopavee Means
Kopavee, pronounced ko-pa-vee, is inspired by the Hopi word kopavi, connected to the soft spot at the crown of a baby’s head, understood as a doorway at the top of the head and a place of spiritual connection.
It also corresponds symbolically with the crown chakra, the energy center associated with higher guidance, divine connection, and spiritual awareness.
I chose this name because it reflects my life path and the work I feel called to do. I am not a spiritual healer, and I do not claim to have all the answers. I am deeply connected to intuitive, higher vibrational energy, and I believe that a meaningful connection to inner wisdom is available to everyone.
For me, Kopavee represents the sacred space within us that can guide us through change.
Reflective Tool
The Kopavee Alignment Map is something I trained in through the KI Essence Online Institute, where I became a certified KI Mapping Consultant. It is optional and offered as a reflective tool.
Created from your date of birth, it helps us explore your natural patterns, strengths, emotional tendencies, and the way you move through change.
I use this map as a starting point for conversation, reflection, and deeper self-understanding. It is a supportive tool that can help bring language to what you may already be sensing within yourself.
